Nursery Coordinator Responsibilities

Supply Management

Purchase these as needed:

  • Supplies (diapers, wipes, trash bags, etc.)

  • New toys

  • Snacks (animal crackers, disposable small cups for crackers)

  • New Furniture, if needed

  • Report annually to the Deacons on the request for the next year’s fiscal budget needs for the Nursery

Administrative

  • Create Nursery Schedule in compliance with our Child Protection Policy and send invites to volunteers using the Planning Center platform

  • Once a year (usually August or September) review and send the updated Cornerstone Nursery Guidelines to all volunteers

  • Recruit and train potential new volunteers for nursery and provide their names to church m secretary to process the background check (for those 18 years and older only)

  • Request the Session’s approval of any new potential volunteers (they must be members of Cornerstone Church) before requesting a background check

  • Communicate with Primary Praise scheduler to make sure that you aren’t double scheduling volunteers who help with both ministries

  • Send emails to Nursery volunteers as necessary

  • iPad Check-In management (coordinate and troubleshoot with technical staff person)

  • Submit Reimbursement form to church secretary for nursery supplies that you have purchased

  • Arrange for a few volunteers to assist with the cleaning of the toys and surfaces as needed

  • Monitor and assist needed change of assignment for scheduled nursery volunteers

  • Clean small vacuum cleaner’s filter every week to maintain good vacuuming function (kept in child’s bathroom in the Nursery)

  • Be the contact person for volunteers who have questions

  • Communicate with volunteers via email on any new Nursery guidelines or instructions
