Our Beliefs
Cornerstone belongs to a family of churches called the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Our beliefs are rooted in the reformed tradition, affirming the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, and subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Cornerstone is a church that is:
Renewed by the gospel
Meaning that we are growing in knowing and experiencing God's love through gospel-centered teaching from the Bible, participatory worship and regular enjoyment of the sacraments.
To serve one another
Meaning that we are fostering caring small groups, where we engage each other's lives and help each other minister to all who are around us.
To love Waukesha County
Meaning that we are committed to loving the communities where God has placed us and are seeking to grow the Kingdom of God through hospitality, evangelism, missions and works of mercy.
Our Worship
God’s Word guides us in our thinking of how he desires to be worshipped.
We are liturgical. As part of our worship, we speak God's Word to one another as we are reminded it is God who calls us into his presence.
We sing. We are a church that desires to sing and our music reflects that desire.
We hear God’s Word. The Word of God is a means of Grace to equip his saints. Our preaching aims to conform us to the image of Christ Jesus—our Redeemer.
We partake of the Lord's Supper for spiritual nourishment and growth in grace on the first and third Sunday of every month.
We baptize all those who are of the visible church. Baptism is the washing with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, it signifies and seals our ingrafting into Christ, and partaking of the benefits of the covenant of grace, and our engagement to be the Lord’s.
We are joyful. We delight in meeting together in proclaiming the story of God’s love for us.
